Portsmouth midfielder Gary O'Neil has poured cold water on speculation he is set for a move to Middlesbrough.

O'Neil, 24, has been linked with a move to Teesside, possibly as part of a package taking striker Yakubu in the opposite direction.

But O'Neil told the Evening Gazette: "I don't know anything about it. It's just a silly rumour which has been blown up. As all the Pompey fans know, I have been happy here for years and I see myself being here for the next 10 years yet.

"Yakubu has been linked with us a few times and Middlesbrough are supposedly interested in me so people have put two and two together and got eight or nine.

"I am sure if something serious was going on my agent would phone me."
