Sunderland boss Steve Bruce has been stunned by Peter Crouch's personal demands.

The Sunday Mirror says Crouch wants a £90,000 a-week deal from Sunderland - to the shock of Steve Bruce.

Crouch and his advisers have told the Black Cats that they are looking for a rise on his current sky-high Portsmouth salary before the £12million move goes through.

Sunderland boss Bruce is aware Crouch is reluctant to head to the north east and the wage he wants is to compensate for that - with Fulham and Spurs also in the hunt.
