Portsmouth's Cranie ready for loan exit

Portsmouth defender Martin Cranie admits he fancies a loan move away.

He told the Portsmouth News: "I'm not too sure what's going on. I didn't realise Alan Pardew was even there the other night until somebody told me.

"Obviously I've heard things about going on loan to Charlton but haven't heard anything through the club on it so at the minute I'm still here and working hard to get into the team. Harry's not said anything, it's just rumours. People have said it's been in the papers but personally me and the gaffer haven't heard anything.

"Obviously I would like to stay here and play but we have a very strong squad so I would be happy to be loaned out to get a few more games in as I can then come back and force my way in.

"If I'm not involved in the first team I would definitely like to go out and get some experience, but I am happy here still doing my best for the club. Hopefully I impressed with the England under-21s and we can see what happens after that. Other than that, there's not a lot happening."
