Portsmouth are launching a £2 million bid for Tottenham defender Younes Kaboul.

The Mirror says Portsmouth want Kaboul, 22, as cover for veteran Sol Campbell during the club's first UEFA Cup campaign.

Spurs paid Auxerre £8m last summer but Juande Ramos is willing to accept a massive price reduction to cut Kaboul from the wage bill.
