Portsmouth encouraging Sunderland to revive Wilson bid

Portsmouth are keen to revive the sale of Marc Wilson to Sunderland.

The Mirror says Pompey were close to letting versatile Republic of Ireland starlet Wilson sign for the Black Cats when the idea of trading outside the window was first revealed five weeks ago.

Now Portsmouth hope Sunderland will still buy Wilson - and let him stay with them 'on loan' - but the price is likely to fall from the original valuation of £4 million to around half of that sum.
