Portsmouth are chasing Tottenham midfielder Giovani dos Santos.

The Mirror says Avram Grant will discover today whether he will succeed with a bid to take Spurs playmaker Giovanni on loan.

Portsmouth have made a desperate appeal to the Premier League to lift their transfer embargo.

Signed from Barcelona, 20-year-old Giovani impressed on loan at Championship Ipswich last season.

But he has made only one substitute appearance in the top-flight for high-flying Spurs this term and boss Harry Redknapp is willing to loan out the youngster.
