Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp believes Sean Davis is playing well enough to warrant an England call-up.
"The lad's got a great engine and can play. I've been pleased with him ever since he came here and it's been a good season for him so far. He's done a good job. I remember when Sean had a good spell at Fulham and got an England call-up, he's probably playing as well as that again at the moment. The system is getting the best from him.
"It suits the other two, Diop and Muntari, as well. Then there's Niko, who wants to be on the left-hand side and Utaka on the right. Sean can still get into the opposition box as well, as he did against Fulham and perhaps should have scored. He can afford to go.
"He's doing really well for us at the moment."
Redknapp added: "It would be nice for Sean to play for England but there's a lot of competition in midfield at the moment.
"There are so many players there, it's going to be difficult, real difficult."
