Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp has spoken more of his arrest last week by police.
Redknapp found himself in a bleak interrogation room at Chichester Police Station, in West Sussex, under arrest and being asked to remove the belt from his trousers.
"I think they were worried I'd hang myself," he said, sombrely.
He took comfort that many within the game had contacted him to offer support.
A text arrived from Portugal from Jose Mourinho. Messages came from former players, including Manchester United's Rio Ferdinand and Yakubu Aiyegbeni, playing at Portsmouth with Everton.
"Lovely gestures, important to me," said Redknapp yesterday.
"This has hurt me, big time," he admitted to the Mail on Sunday. "My life has been turned upside down. If I'd done something wrong, you could kick me out of football, hang me as a disgrace. I'd have ruined not just my life, but the lives of my family. Why would I do that? There isn't enough money in the world to make me do that."
