Portsmouth manager Michael Appleton admits he is after a winger this winter.
The former West Bromwich Albion assistant is of the belief that a natural winger will help balance his squad which currently sits 17th on the Championship table.
"Is a wide player my priority? It could well be.""To get proper natural width, you need natural wide players. We've got a mix of players who are almost in between positions," he told The News
"We've got players who can play in different positions but it's all about the balance of the squad. I want to be able to build a squad where the balance is perfect.
Appleton has been using the likes of Liam Lawrence, Erik Huseklepp and Liam Lawrence on the flanks but wants to go for a more natural wide attacking player.
