Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp has lashed out at Tottenham's Harry Redknapp over his treatment of Younes Kaboul.
Adams said: "I think it was unfair to play Kaboul in midfield at Chelsea on the first day of the season.
"Sometimes, that used to stick in Harry's head, a performance like that.
"To be fair to the kid, he's got fitter and stronger. He's gone in at centre-back and I think it is his best position. On the right side, he can do a good job.
"He's in great shape and I just wish I had a physique like that. He's athletic, quick and strong in the air - he's got it all and he could be a big player for us in the future."
Adams, who has held talks with former Arsenal team-mate, Martin Keown, over a coaching role at Pompey, added: "I don't see why Kaboul cannot one day replace Sol."
