Portsmouth are launching a bid for Udinese midfielder Christian Obodo.

Pompey boss Tony Adams sees Obodo as an ideal replacement for Lassana Diarra, who made his debut for Real Madrid last night.

Udinese are willing to sell, with Obodo failing to nail down a regular start this season. The Nigeria international is rated in the £5 million class.
