Portsmouth battling to keep Everton, Bolton target Davis

Portsmouth are tabling midfielder Sean Davis a new contract.

The Mirror says Davis has been offered a three-year deal by Portsmouth in a desperate bid to keep him away from Everton or Bolton.

Davis, 29, has been a midfield regular since Pompey sold Lassana Diara, Sulley Muntari and Pedro Mendes.

But his contract expires in the summer and only now have Portsmouth offered him another.

Portsmouth executive chairman Peter Storrie said Davis had not yet responded.

"Sean has been offered a three year contract. We made a very good offer and actually improved it," he said. "But I think he just wants to wait and keep his options open until the end of the season.

"We would like him to stay but it is in his hands now."
