Four of the Porto players who featured in the 5-0 loss to Liverpool last week have suffered injuries over the weekend and are in danger of missing the reverse fixture at Anfield.
The Primeira League leaders bounced back from the humbling defeat with a thumping 5-1 win over Portimonense.
Portuguese football correspondent Stephen Gullet, founder of playmaker_EN, said: "Porto's attention snapped back to the league immediately after the Liverpool defeat.
"They are now five points clear and all their energies are focused on the 'Clasico' with Sporting on Friday at the Dragao - a win in that game and they've one hand on the title."
The game against Sporting Lisbon this Friday could go a long way to deciding the Portuguese champion.
But Sergio Conceicao could be without Alex Telles, Tiqiuinho Soares, Jesus Corona, and Ricardo Pereira, who all featured against Liverpool.
With virtually no chance of advancing past the Reds, Conceicao could opt to risk his players for the 'Clasico' on Friday night rather than save them for the trip to Anfield on Tuesday.
