The Birmingham Mail have revealed that Aly Cissokho is on the verge of completing his move to back to FC Porto.

French left-back Cissokho was signed on a £3.5million deal by former Villa manager Paul Lambert but Tim Sherwood does not see the former Liverpool defender as part of his plans at the club.

With Villa splashing the cash to bring in a new left-back in the form of Jordan Amavi, Cissokho had been made available for a transfer this summer and the defender is now on the verge of completing a season long loan move back to former side Porto.
