Porto are ready to sign Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro.

AS says Porto have formally told Real Madrid that they wish to activate their purchase option on Brazilian midfielder Casemiro, who spent last season on loan at the Estádio do Dragão.

Porto will part with €15 million to make Casemiro a permanent member of the squad.

The club announced its intention on Thursday through its official daily news bulletin.

"FC Porto informs Real Madrid of the club's intention to acquire Casemiro on a permanent basis. The contract between the parties states, however, that the Spanish club can recover the player by paying compensation to FC Porto. As such, the decision is now in the hands of Real Madrid."
