Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino says they can rescue the England national team.
Striker Rickie Lambert has been called up for the Three Lions' vital upcoming World Cup qualifiers with Moldova and Ukraine after scoring on his debut against Scotland, while youth academy graduates Luke Shaw and James Ward-Prowse are in the Under-21 squad.
Argentine Pochettino said: "We are compensating for the lack of English players in the Premier League.
"Southampton could be a very good example for the rest of English football. It does not always work when you copy someone else but I think other clubs will try."
