Pochettino "proud" of his Spurs players after West Brom rout

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino was delighted with their comfortable 3-0 win at West Bromwich Albion.

Harry Kane struck brace after Christian Eriksen's opener for the visitors.

Pochettino said: "I am very proud of the players. I congratulate them because it was a good performance.

"It was very important to start well because after the semi-final at Sheffield (United) always it is difficult, but I think from the beginning we were very aggressive and I think we played very well with and without the ball.

"After 2-0 maybe we played at a slow tempo but after the second half I think we deserved it. I think at the end the result was fair."

It was Spurs' sixth win in eight league games but Pochettino knows such form needs to be maintained for a top-four spot to be achieved.

He said: "If we show this like we did today, this performance, maybe we have the possibility to arrive (there), but we need to be consistent from here to the end of the season.

"We don't speak about that. We need to focus on the next game - step by step. To challenge in the long term we need to play every game like we did today."
