Pochettino hints at line-up error in Tottenham Europa defeat at Dortmund

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has hinted that he made a mistake in his squad selection in the Europa League first leg defeat to Borussia Dortmund last week.

The Argentine manager opted to leave out the likes of Harry Kane, Erik Lamela, Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele from his line-up in the 3-0 defeat at Westfalenstadion.

Spurs will now face the Bundesliga club in the second leg at White Hart Lane on Thursday and Pochettino will have to field a strong XI in order to overturn the deficit.

"Sometimes we rotate, sometimes maybe I made a mistake," he said.

"We analyse our decision a lot. We can always do better and for that we are open to learn.

"Sometimes it is difficult and I accept in a very good way the criticism because always in football if you win you are a genius, if not, you are a disaster.

"For me it is important to keep all players motivated. It is very important for our supporters that they know I believe in all the players in our squad."
