Playing well doesn't necessarily mean points - West Ham's Grant

West Ham United boss Avram Grant wants his side to translate their capable form into Premiership points.

The Hammers currently sit at the foot of the Premier League table, four points out of the safety zone, and desperately need to start producing the goods before things slip away from them.

Too often the East London club put in an encouraging display but come up short and now Grant wants the excuses to stop and the points to come rolling in the next few weeks.

"It's one more challenge," insisted Grant. "I think the next month or two are important for us because we cannot continue playing well but not getting points.

"The time has come to stop saying: 'We played well, but...'

"If I am asking the team to be strong and show character then I have to be the first one to do that. I have to lead, be strong, show character.

"There is time to recover but we need to change things and get points. It won't be easy but we can do it."
