Playing against Beckham best moment of my career - Newcastle Jets' Abbas

Newcastle Jets midfielder Ali Abbas admits November's clash with MLS club LA Galaxy and David Beckham was the highlights of his club career.

The 24-year old, who has been in Australia since skipping out in the Iraq U20 side whilst on tour down under in 2007, has been coming along in leaps and bounds with the Jets this season and has become a key figure in Branko Culina's line-up.

During his career he has experienced more downs than ups, mainly due to the lifestyle back home, but admits that the November 28 exhibition match against Beckham and the Galaxy was one of the best times of his playing days so far.

"It was a wonderful experience for me," he told Australian Football Weekly

"I was lucky to play against David Beckham and the Galaxy. It has given me more confidence.

"I didn't meet Beckham but I said hi and he is a really good guy. It was probably the best experience of my club career."
