Players have responded well to failures - Man Utd's Rooney

Wayne Rooney has spoken highly of his Manchester United teammates following their brilliant form of late.

The Red Devils are on a winning run of four matches since they were beaten 2-1 by Arsenal in the FA Cup on March 9 and captain Rooney suggests it is down to the response of the playing group as to why the team has found such form.

"There are times when you have to speak up," Rooney said. "I did that before the Tottenham game (3-0 win on March 15) because I felt I had to.

"We had had a bad defeat in the FA Cup against Arsenal and I just wanted to reiterate to the players what our targets were for the remaining games of the season.

"The players responded to that and we have had some good results."
