Manchester City coach David Platt has cooled talk of a move for Barcelona star Andres Iniesta.

Platt has dismissed speculation linking City with Barcelona's World Cup-winning midfielder Iniesta.

He said: "There isn't a player this club can't afford although I don't really think that Iniesta is on our shopping list."
