Chelsea matchwinner Claudio Pizarro admits it's been a slog settling in at Stamford Bridge.

After his goal in the win against Birmingham City, the Peru striker said: "Coming on and scoring gives you confidence. It has been hard to settle in.

"You need time and it was more complicated for me because I didn't do pre-season with the team.

"But things are going well. It is a big challenge with the club bringing in new players.

"It will be difficult for the trainer to choose the right players but what I am trying to do is make it difficult for the trainer."
