Steven Pienaar feels Ross Barkley can make an impact at Everton this season.

The teen is expected to join Sheffield Wednesday on-loan next week.

But Pienaar says: "Last season we finished just outside the top six, even though the teams around us spent a lot of money.

"So hopefully, with the development of Ross, we've got quite a competitive team."
