Philadelphia Union have released midfielder Alex Mendoza and left-back Damani Richards.

Head coach John Hackworth is looking to finalize his roster for the 2013 MLS season and has decided to waive Mendoza, who has spent the past two seasons with UNAM Pumas in Mexico.

Trinidad &Tobago youth international Richards arrived in Philly via the Super Draft in January but has not been signed despite the Union still in need of a left-back.
