Philadelphia Union head coach Peter Nowak was despondent after his side lost 2-0 to DC United on Sunday.
The first-year MLS club were outgunned by DC who were well-served by Australian striker Danny Allsopp with a double and the performance was met with disappointment by Nowak who expects much better of his charges.
"I am extremely disappointed, not only with the result, but with the way we played," said Nowak. "There was no substance in the whole game today. From the back, from the simple mistake we should clean up to the overall game, even offensive.
"I think that was the worst performance I ever saw in this eight months with this team. I think we have to be real about the situation that this stuff is not going to fly with me and we 're going to go back to work and fix it."
