MLS expansion team Philadelphia Union have unveiled their playing strips as well as their motto - 'Join or Die'.

The team will wear a dark blue shirt with a thick gold stripe down the centre and gold on the shoulders when they take to the field next season for home matches at Union Field in Chester, Pennsylvania.

The Latin phrase that sits on the abck of the collar -'JUNGITE aut PERITE,' means 'Join or die,' and is on the famous Ben Franklin political cartoon that urged Colonial unity.
