Philadelphia Union close in on Wigan's Delort

MLS side Philadelphia Union are believed to be nearing a deal for Wigan Athletic's Andy Delort.

Sky Sports reports that the 23-year old French striker 'has been allowed to start talks' with the Union and could join the club before Monday night's British transfer window closes.

Delort has struggled to settle at the DW Stadium since his move from Tours in the summer having made just 11 appearances for the Latics.

Previously, the former France U20 international spent time with the likes of Metz, AC Ajaccio and Nimes and could become the third Wigan player to join the MLS ranks this off-season following Shaun Maloney's move to Chicago Fire and Roger Espinoza's return to Sporting Kansas City.
