Manchester United defender Phil Jones admits the players are excited to be returning to the Champions League next season.

Jones says it has hurt watching the big Euro games this season in United's absence.

"We've missed it massively, there's nothing like a European night when the Champions League music is on, especially when you've been watching it this season and haven't been a part of it," Jones told the Manchester Evening News.

"You sit and watch the games and it's disappointing, of course it is painful. A team like Manchester United should be there but we've no given right to be there, we need to perform.

"I think we've got some fantastic and talented players, I'm sure there will be one or two coming in to strengthen the squad, but we've moving in the right direction. We just need to finish the season strongly now."
