The referees association will hold an investigation after linesman Constantine Hatzidakis physically clashed with Liverpool fullback Andrew Robertson on Sunday.
Robertson appeared to be elbowed in the chin by Hatzidakis during the 2-2 draw with Arsenal.
Robertson approached the official angrily at the end of the first half and appeared to shove him as he passed, with Hatzidakis raising an elbow which hit the Scot.
This saw the defender respond angrily and along with several team-mates approached referee Paul Tierney, who booked 29-year-old Robertson.
It's now been announced refereeing body PGMOL will hold an investigation.
