Peterborough keeper Bergstrom appreciates support from Chelsea loans chief Myers

Chelsea youngster Lucas Bergstrom is continuing to impress on loan at Peterborough United.

The 20-year-old goalkeeper is spending the season with the League One club.

This week, Bergstrom's Peterborough will take on the Chelsea Under-21 side.

Asked about any advice he received from Andy Myers, now loan technical coach at Chelsea, he stated: “He was my coach last year and a lot of the advice that he gave me then was to prepare me for this moment.

“I can definitely see some of the things he spoke to me about. He would always say ensure that you have rounded out your basics as that is what will help you improve the whole part of your game."

He added on praise he's received on social media: “I have obviously seen some of the praise but I am not on Twitter. I try not to focus on this because it's very easy to go on the pitch when the fans like you and respect your ability but social media can go both ways.

“If you start playing bad it can turn on you so I do my best to not focus on that but rather focus on continuing to perform. As long as the team are doing well and they are happy with me, as well as my team-mates, then I am good."
