Pescara have dropped plans of signing Liverpool outcast Mario Balotelli.
The Sun says the 26-year-old did appear to have a lifeline in Pescara, who are looking to make their mark in Serie A this season.
But the newly promoted side have ruled out a transfer, with president Daniele Sebastiani saying: “Balotelli and [Pablo] Osvaldo are great players. When they want to play they are top names, but they are not suitable for Pescara."
However, Balotelli could earn a reprieve from Chievo, nicknamed 'The Flying Donkeys', but will have to give up his £90,000-a-week wages to secure the switch.
