Perth Glory signs ex-Zurich, Thun, Newcastle Jets defender Milicevic

Perth Glory have confirmed the capture of experienced defender Ljubo Milicevic.

The 32-year old returns to the Glory after his initial stint there between 1999 and 2001 with his arrival delighting head coach and former teammate Alistair Edwards.

"Ljubo made contact about ten days ago and obviously that triggered our interest as he's a quality player and a former champion player of the club," he said.

"I discussed it with (coaches) Gareth (Naven) and Scott (Miller) and we were all unanimous in saying that it would be great to have him back here.

"I believe it's a good fit for Ljubo and a good fit for the club."

During his career, Melbourne-born Milicevic has played for such clubs as FC Zurich, FC Thun, Young Boys and FC Basel in Switzerland, Melbourne Victory, Newcastle Jets and South Melbourne in Australia and Hajduk Split in Croatia.
