Perth Glory's Ferguson excited about New Year after strong performance

Perth Glory coach Ian Ferguson is looking forward to seeing the back of 2010 and hopes last night's performance is something to look forward t in the New Year.

The Glory managed just their second win in their last 17 matches by defeating second-placed Adelaide United 4-2 at nib Stadium to help them off the bottom of the table and Ferguson hopes it is just the tonic the players need to go a positive run leading into the finals.

"I felt over the last four or five weeks we have taken small steps and the football was better," Ferguson said.

"It's given us lifeline and now we have some big games coming up in the New Year."

The Glory will now look to Monday, January 3 for their next clash which will be a trip to Robina to take on Gold Coast United and hopefully a second big scalp in a row.
