Perkins, Horst sign new Portland Timbers contracts

The Portland Timbers have re-signed goalkeeper Troy Perkins and defender David Horst to new contracts and exercised the contract options for 16 players, it was announced today.

Timbers general manager/technical director Gavin Wilkinson made the announcement.

Additionally, the club announced that it has declined the contract options for goalkeeper Adin Brown, defender Kevin Goldthwaite, midfielders Rodrigo Lopez, Peter Lowry and Ryan Pore and forwards Spencer Thompson and Brian Umony.

With today's announcements, the Timbers currently have 22 players on their roster heading into the 2012 Major League Soccer season.
