Former Liverpool attacker Jermaine Pennant has spoken about what it was like to play with a club legend.
Pennant, a former teammate of Steven Gerrard, outlined his experiences of being in the same side as the legendary English central midfielder.
Gerrard, who is now coaching Al Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia, has been touted as a future Reds manager.
Speaking to TalkSPORT, the 40-year-old said: “Steven Gerrard, he was a leader, and when things were going wrong he would put that team on his back, he would rally the troops.
“In the dressing room, before the game, after the game, eve in training, I used to hate being on his team.
“I was more scared of Steven Gerrard than the Gaffer. I would look at him as the manager, he had that much power."
