Manuel Pellegrini was not discounting Manchester City's chances of progressing to the knockout phase of the Champions League despite a draw on Tuesday night.
The Premier League champions squandered a two-goal lead to be held to a 2-2 draw by CSKA Moscow at the Khimki Arena which has them sitting third with just two points from their three Group E matches.
Despite this predicament, Pellegrini is confident that his side is capable of sneaking through to the Round of 16 with home fixtures against CSKA and Bayern Munich and a trip to Roma to come.
"Why? We have nine points more to play for," he told Sky Sports 5 when asked if City will escape form their group.
"After we have played for the remaining nine points, we will see.
"Of course, in the end (we will qualify)."
Goals from Sergio Aguero and James Milner had City two ahead at the break before Seydou Doumbia pulled one back prior to Bibras Natcho's late penalty.
