Real Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini held talks with GM Jorge Valdano after training yesterday.

AS says the pair discussed which players Pellegrini was happy to offload this summer. At least five players will be sold by Real before the end of August.

Those in the gun include Royston Drenthe, Rafael van der Vaart, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Gabriel Heinze and Alvaro Negredo. Pellegrini is also willing to consider offers for Arjen Robben, Ezequiel Garay, Mahamadou Diarra and Christophe Metzelder.

Local pair Javi Garcia and Dani Parejo are also not required.
