Pedro rumours has Young seeking Man Utd assurances

Ashley Young has sought reassurances from Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward over his future at Old Trafford.

With persistent rumours linking Barcelona winger Pedro to United, Young is reportedly worried about his opportunities as a Red Devils player.

Young has failed to secure a new contract at Old Trafford and is now anxious that the arrival of Pedro could mean he is sold .

A United source told the Daily Star: "He is aware that competition for places will be stronger than ever and it looks like Pedro is also heading to United.

"He doesn´t want to leave, but doesn´t want to become just a squad man either because at his age he needs regular first team football."
Young is hoping to be offered a new contract but if not will look to push for a move away from United.

Young has been the subject of interest from Tottenham, Liverpool and Newcastle United but would have to decrease his wage demands from £120,000 a week in order to secure a move away from Old Trafford.
