Pearson insists Leicester not sitting back on three-game winning run

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has stated that his side will not be resting on their laurels despite their fine three-match winning streak in the Premier League.

The Foxes have given themselves a wonderful chance of avoiding the drop after claiming three consecutive victories over West Ham United, West Bromwich Albion and Swansea City, and unlikely as it may have seemed a few weeks ago, the club now look one of the favourites to retain their top flight status.

However, Pearson is not getting carried away by his side's fine run of form and has insisted that the Foxes need to keep their focus ahead of the proverbial six-pointer against the Clarets at Turf Moor on Saturday.

"I am delighted we have won three games in a row," he said. "That is a very difficult feat to achieve for any team, especially a team sitting at the foot of the table. But we are not in a position where we can sit back and enjoy it. We have a more realistic chance now and that is where we are.

"If it raises optimism then fine, if it applies more pressure on sides around us then fine also, but as far as I am concerned it is getting back to business when we play Burnley because it is a big game for both sides.

"We have a lot of respect for Burnley. I think it will have a cup feel to it. Both sides know there is a lot riding on the result, and with that in mind it will be a very keenly and hard fought game."
