Watford boss Nigel Pearson has been speaking to the media before his side travel up to Prenton Park to face Tranmere in their FA Cup third-round replay on Tuesday.
That means the Hornets will play two games in just over 48 hours, after their win at Bournemouth on Sunday.
"It's not easy," Pearson said.
"It's the climate we are working in at the moment. I have to prioritise due to our situation in the Premier League at the minute.
"I will endeavour to give the competition the respect it deserves but it is not the main priority for us."
