England U21 coach Stuart Pearce has assured Manchester City he won't risk the fitness of Jack Rodwell.
England's youngsters travel to Krusevac for the return fixture after beating Serbia 1-0 at Carrow Road thanks to Craig Dawson's second-half penalty.
Rodwell played the first 45 minutes on Friday but was replaced at half-time by Jason Lowe - after a return of the hamstring problem which ended his Euro 2012 hopes when he was at Everton last season.
Rodwell, who moved to Manchester City for £12million this summer, suffered SIX such injuries last season.
Pearce said: "His hamstring tightened up - we'll see how it goes before we make any judgment.
"I didn't want to take any chance for club or country. We'll see if it settles down and if it's not right, he won't travel."
