Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko is on the verge of a season-long switch to Sporting Lisbon, reports the Daily Mail. The two clubs have agreed to split the striker's salary for the entire campaign and all that is now needed to seal the deal is the agreement of Pavlyuchenko himself, claims Portuguese newspaper Abola.
The Russia front-man, 28, has struggled to hold down a place in the first team at White Hart Lane, and finds himself below Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe in the pecking order.
Pavlyuchenko had only limited opportunities to impress for Tottenham last season, scoring ten goals in 24 appearances.
He joined the club from Spartak Moscow for £13.8million in September 2008.
