Former Derby County boss Paul Clement has been named new coach of Cercle Brugge.
Clement, who has worked as coach with Chelsea, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, admits he takes the job knowing very little about his new club.
He said, “I have to be honest with that: very little. A new world is opening up here for me, but I find that 'challenging', I like that.
"I have worked at a high level with youth at Chelsea. I have worked at a very high level as an assistant, in four different top competitions. Now I'm expected to make players better and get results in a league I don't know. A nice challenge.
"Especially because the story has a link with Monaco, and because this team aims higher than in previous seasons.
"I bring my permanent assistant with me, Nigel Gibbs, who I worked with at Swansea and Reading. I would also like to add a second English assistant with whom the conversations are still ongoing, but the continuity within this club must also remain assured. Andreas Patz and Dany Verlinden will take care of that."
