Osasuna skipper Patxi Punal has extended his contract for a further year and stated his desire to finish his career with the club.

The 35-year-old's current deal was due to expire at the end of this season but he will now remain in Pamplona until June 2012.

And he said: "It was something I wanted. It was done very fast with no problems, like all through my career. I hope it is not the last (contract), and that the physio says I can continue to proudly wear the Osasuna shirt for several more seasons."

The midfielder has been with the club for 14 years and has made 12 appearances this season.
