Alexandre Pato has hailed the form of AC Milan teammate Stephan El Shaarawy.

Pato made his comeback against Genoa, with El Shaarawy scoring the matchwinner.

"El Shaarawy is growing and is a great player," said Pato. "He is on the right track and I hope he can do very well at Milan.

"We struggled, but it was important to bring home the three points after recent defeats. Now we must forget all the other results and focus on the next game."
