Parma president Tommaso Ghirardi hopes to wrap up a deal for Inter Milan striker Antonio Cassano this weekend.

Cassano will move to Parma in part exchange for Ishak Belfodil.

Ghirardi said: "This is an important deal for Parma and we still haven't come to terms with the kind of name we're talking about signing.

"There's confidence from Cassano's people and in our communications with Inter.

"When we can announce the signing of Cassano we will know we have signed a champion and reinforced the team. Our ambitions are much higher than they have been in the past."
