Pardew won't walk out on Newcastle

Alan Pardew insists upset fans won't drive him out of Newcastle United.

Under-fire Pardew is bracing himself for a hostile reception ahead of tomorrow's final home game of the season against rock-bottom Cardiff City.

Asked if he thought he could survive, despite a recent poll claiming more than 80 per cent of fans want him sacked, Pardew said: "Yes, I do.

"You need to have a strong-willed personality to be a manager.

"You have to show a resolve to your wife and your daughter that you are strong enough to deal with it, let alone fans and players.

"As a manager, you are going to have some bad times, some really bad times.

"If you're going to walk away, then in my view, you do not have the make-up to be a manager or a leader of men.

"If you're in the middle of a field, surrounded by armies, left, right and centre, you can't just say "I've enough now, sorry." It doesn't work like that."
