Newcastle boss Alan Pardew says new free transfer signing Romain Amalfitano will be given time to settle at St James' Park before being introduced to the first team. The 22-year-old midfielder arrived on Tyneside on a free transfer from French Ligue 2 winners Stade de Reims last week.
Pardew told Chronicle Live:
"However, he is coming into a great environment and I'm sure he'll settle very quickly. That's the beauty of the French market."
Pardew added: "He plays across the midfield, a bit like Sylvain Marveaux." "Romain's a player who has been off the radar for a while, so it's going to take him some time to get back to his very, very best.
