Pardew reveals one regret from Newcastle spell

Former Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has revealed a regret from his time at the club.

Pardew helped the Magpies reach the quarter finals of the Europa League back in 2013.

However, he feels that not being able to progress further in the competition is his one regret from his time at the club.

They were disappointing in a quarter final tie against Portuguese side Benfica.

But Pardew felt they were unlucky in that game, and could have progressed if certain decisions went in their favor.

"When we went into Europe, we were so unlucky not to win that quarter-final against Benfica. We were so unlucky," he told the Keys & Gray podcast.

"I look back and the one regret was that game. We played really well in both games but we just didn't get the breaks.

"I can talk about cup finals - 'oh, I didn't get a break here or I didn't get a break there' - but the games I look back on were those two games against Benfica. We should have won those. We were unlucky."
